January 25, 2025 – Cover reveal

I am very excited to share the cover for The Storyteller’s War: Geoffrey Chaucer, Reluctant Spy, fresh from my publisher, Black Rose Writing (BRW). I am grateful to BRW and their designer, who helped bring to fruition what was just an idea a few months ago.

Prior to landing a publishing contract I had heard lots of horror stories from well-established writers as they found that they had no control over their covers and had little recourse if they didn’t like them. I am thankful that BRW gave me the opportunity to provide suggestions on how I thought the cover should look, and listened to those suggestions as well as my feedback.

I’m no designer, but I do work in the communications and marketing field in my day job, and know just how difficult this process can be. I am grateful for the flexibility in providing edits to make sure the details were historically accurate, while I appreciated the need to reach the respective audience. All in all a very positive experience that will hopefully translate into readers looking at the cover, reading the blurb and choosing to pick my book amongst the many other choices out there.

[Feb. 15/25 update: You can now pre-order a copy from Amazon, Barnes & Noble or BRW here. Note that I earn more from BRW sales, but higher shipping fees apply to Canadian and UK readers, as BRW is based in the US.]
